It was dangerous. You knew that the night you opened your eyes to find a man poised over you, sharp teeth skimming over the side of your neck.
“Humans,” he had said with a scoff. “So easy to kill…always with that same look of fear before I end their lives.”
“Then what are you waiting for?” You retorted, right knee ready to knee him in the balls if he actually dared to try anything. (Pretty stupid. You later noted in the near future, considering the fact that he won’t feel any pain .)
He gave a hollow chuckle as he moved away from your neck to hover above your face, looking at you with slight amusement.
“But where’s the fun in that? I prefer to keep my prey in suspense.” And with that, he disappeared into the night as quietly as he came.
Despite the encounter that should’ve left you locking your window, you decided to hang a single bulb of garlic in front of your window instead. The next few weeks passed without you having so much as a fleeting thought of your nighttime visitor. Work had left you staying overtime most days and by the time you got home, you only had so much energy to shower, brush your teeth, and collapse onto your bed. It was only one night when you woke up feeling cold that you noticed the open window and the missing garlic bulb. At the edge of your bed sat the vampire, garlic in one hand.
“Did you think you could keep me away with this?” He dangled the garlic in front of you. “Or is this your way of inviting me to your bedroom?”
You groaned, falling back onto your pillow heavily. “Go away…or just kill me. I don’t care anymore.”
He smirked. “I’m afraid I can do neither.”

A/N: I’ve finally written something! Sorry if you’ve requested and I haven’t written :( I’ve only been able to write about random ideas that pop into my head nowadays. Maybe I’ll get to them someday?!
